This peak is not in the book.
Peak 9553 is located between Sleeping Deer Mountain and Martin Mountain. It is just north of Wood Tick Summit. I recommend climbing the peak from the end of the Sleeping Deer Mountain Road via the trail system that leaves the road. After 1.0 mile, turn north and drop off the pass. Follow the trail north past Cache Creek Lakes to Wood Tick Saddle. From the saddle, take Martin Mountain Trail north until you are on the slopes of Peak 9553. Leave the trail and hike up to the rocky summit. See the Sleeping Deer Mountain page for additional access information. USGS Sleeping Deer Mountain

Peak 9553 as viewed from Martin Mountain. The Martin Mountain Trail crosses the forested slopes on the right-hand side of this photo. It’s an easy walk to the summit from the trail.
