Chilcoot Peak is located on the western edge of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. A fire lookout was placed on the summit in 1933. However, the lookout was destroyed in 1969. This area is seldom visited by peakbaggers. A 2016 ascent of the peak by John Platt and Dave Pahlas is the first one I have heard of in the last 25 years. John told me that the “Trail to Chilcoot Pass is great and the trail up the peak is good. There are several foundations located on the summit.” Class 1. USGS Chilcoot Peak
