The Climb
From the 7,620-foot connecting saddle with Mahogany Ridge West, follow FST-235 north then northeast as it does some ups and downs and skirts the forested northwest face of Henderson Peak on its way to an 8,100-foot saddle between Horse Heaven and Henderson Peak. From this saddle, hike up an old, overgrown 2-track north through thick sagebrush to reach short scrub and gravel and the end of the 2-track. Scramble north up the face a short distance to reach the elongated summit hump just to the west. There is no summit cairn. Return south to the 8,100-foot connecting saddle. This concludes the second leg of today’s adventure. Henderson Peak is up next.
