This “Point” is a peak in every respect. It is a great hike via its deteriorating trail. In 1992, the trail to the abandoned lookout was in fair shape. We spotted sign of goats on the ridge south of the summit. Nearby Bear Mountain can be climbed on the same day if you are energetic. USGS Iron Creek Point

Iron Creek Point as viewed from the northwest.

The last stretch to the summit via the old trail. We saw lots of goat hair along the way but no goats.

Snow on the remains of the old lookout (October 1992).

Lemhi Range peaks. This view east from Iron Creek Point includes Big Creek Peak (left skyline) and Flatiron Peak (left of center).
