Mount Moh is located south of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho in the Portneuf Range, which is capped by Sedgwick Peak. Mount Moh has a long north-south trending summit ridge with an electronics facility to the north. Its highest point is found on the south end of the ridge. The road to the electronics facility passes just east and under the summit. While I would not recommend driving very far to visit this summit, it is an easy summit to bag if you are close by. Access/Route
Additional access information is found on the Sedgwick Peak page. Leave Lava Hot Springs by turning south onto 4th Avenue West, which quickly turns into South Dempsey Road. Continue 1.1 miles and turn left just before the cemetery onto the rugged Henderson Road. The road to Mount Moh turns off the road to Sedgwick Peak to the left in roughly 1.2 miles from the Dempsey Creek Road and is passable to high-clearance vehicles with off-road rated tires. There is no signage. This route is Class 1, as the road runs so close to the peak, an ascent entails a short walk through junipers and pine to the summit. Livingston Douglas reports that as of 2023 “there is a road closure gate partway up the final access road, with “No Trespassing” signs on it.” Consequently, you will need to get permission before visiting the summit.
