Perjue Peak is the highest point in the Little Jacks Wilderness Area. It is also the easternmost ranked Owyhee Mountains summit. The peak has a distinctive north face which is visible as your drive toward it from Grand View, Idaho. USGS Snow Creek
Access
The peak has above average access as it sits just south of the Owyhee Uplands Back Country Byway. Take ID-78 south from Grand View (ID) and follow it south to the well-marked turn for the Byway, roughly 2 miles south of town. Follow the road (paved at first and then good gravel) for 18.2 miles to a turnout on the north side of the road. Park here.
East Ridge, Class 2
From the parking pullout, aim for a grassy 5,300-foot saddle just west of the Rim Benchmark. This saddle is visible from the parking area. Keep your eyes open for a good game/cattle trail that climbs up the lower half of the route. Once on the saddle, turn west and follow the ridge to the summit.

After visiting the summit, we detoured southward to an overlook high above Perjue Canyon. The detour resulted in a total trip of 5.4 miles with 1,720 feet of elevation gain.
