Peak 5922 is a rather insignificant hump that sits on the east side of Dairy Canyon, southwest of Rockland. It is most easily climbed from Dairy Canyon Road to its south. USGS Rockland West

Access

From ID-37 in Rockland, reset your odometer and drive west on [signed] Center Street (which soon becomes Houtz Canyon Road). At 2.9 miles, reach a signed junction with Miller Road (right). Continue straight on Houtz Canyon Road. At 5.6 miles, reach a signed junction with Dairy Canyon Road (right). Turn right onto Dairy Canyon Road. Drive northwest then west up [well-graded] Dairy Canyon Road for 1.4 miles to a road crest/saddle. Park on an unofficial 2-track road on the south side of the saddle (5,570 feet and 42⁰31’39”N, 112⁰58’46”W).

South Ridge, Class 2

The Climb

From the road saddle, bushwhack north-northwest then north up through gapped scrub to reach open Point 5741.  Stay near the rounded ridge crest for the easiest going. The nearby gully (to the right/east of Point 5741) is a thick mess of scrub—avoid it. From Point 5741, descend northeast through thick-ish scrub to reach a saddle. From the saddle, bushwhack north up a rounded shoulder in easy, gapped/dead scrub to reach the open summit hump of Peak 5922. I rebuilt the small, torn-down summit cairn.
