Peak 6858 is the northernmost of the Soda Springs Hills. It sits just southeast of Tenmile Pass (6,145 feet). Peak 6858 is surrounded by private ranch land and its summit is on private ranch land. The south side of the peak is on BLM land. You must obtain landowner permission to climb Peak 6858. USGS The Dip

Access
From US-30 east of Lava Hot Springs (at virtual MM378.5), drive up the [paved] Lund Highway to Bancroft. Leave the highway at Bancroft and head north up [paved] Chesterfield Road for 1-2 miles to a signed junction with Tenmile Pass Road. Turn right/east onto Tenmile Pass Road and drive all the way to Tenmile Pass (6,145 feet). Tenmile Pass Road is a well-maintained county road. Obtain permission from the ranch on the south side of Tenmile Pass Road (just before reaching the pass) before undertaking a climb of Peak 6858.
