This peak is not in the book. Cotterell Mountain is the highest point in the Cotterel Mountains (i.e., the Malta Range). This area is identified on Page 349 of the book but the peak was not discussed. Livingston Douglas added a photo of the peak taken from the east. Updated January 2023
This peak is located southeast of Albion, Idaho on the main crest of the Cotterel Mountains. There are several electronic installations on the summit. The view across the Snake River Plain stretches forever. USGS Nibbs Creek
Access and Route, Class 1
Access this peak from ID-77 exactly 7.4 miles south of Albion, Idaho. Turn east onto a maintained gravel road just south of Connor Summit. Follow this steep road to the summit and its electronic facilities in 4.0 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation gain.
