Peak 7848 is located on a ridgeline that comes up from Birch Creek Road to the east. It is one of two ranked summits on this ridge. Both Peak 7848 and its eastern neighbor (Peak 7826) tower over North Worm Creek Basin to the south. The easiest ascent route is via the south ridge from North Worm Creek Basin. USGS Mink Creek
Northeast Face, Class 2
Access
Same as for the northeast ridge of Peak 7826. This route is the final leg of a ridge traverse from Peak 7826.
The Climb
From the saddle at the base of the northeast face, scramble up the easy scrub on the left/southeast side of the center of the northeast face to reach the summit area. The summit of Peak 7848 is a collection of large boulders with scrub mixed in. There were no signs of previous ascent. I built a small cairn on the highest boulder.
