Peak 8361 is an impressive, incisor-shaped summit located one mile southeast of Snowslide Peak. The ridge between the two peaks can be traversed. Drop south from Snowslide and work your way over to Peak 8361. Cross Peak 8361’s West Side until you can reach the South Ridge. Climb the South Ridge to the summit. USGS Fitsum Summit
John reports: “You can most easily climb this from Golden Lake. The North Ridge is Class 4. The South Ridge is Class 2+/3 depending upon your choice of route. If you are coming from Sawtooth, you need to go either high or low on the West Side (cliffs in between) to gain the saddle on the south. Then it’s fairly easy. ‘Even a dog could do it’ and she did.”
