Peak 9450 is a ranked bump on the south ridge of Sherman Peak (9,892 feet). It sits on a high ridgeline that separates Trapper Creek from East Fork Mayfield Creek deep in the Eastern Salmon River Mountains. No matter which approach you take, this is a lengthy climb. USGS Sherman Peak

Access

Same as for Peak 9347. My route comments are based on reconnaissance from Peak 9347 and the USGS topographic map.

South Ridge, Class 2

The Climb

From Peak 9347, descend north in open rock/scrub then pine forest on a ridge crest to reach a connecting saddle at 9,060 feet. From the saddle, follow an old foot trail north up to 9,200 feet. Leave the trail and bushwhack north then northwest through pine forest on the rounded ridge to reach the summit.
