Sheep Mountain is located on the 20-mile long Sheep Divide which forms the west boundary of the East Fork Salmon River Canyon. Due to private property issues and stream crossing dangers, bagging this big peak is not an easy chore. Nevertheless, because of it’s p2k status, it is a popular goal. With good weather, it is possible to traverse from Peak 10883 over Bowery Peak to Sheep Mountain and back, beginning at the Bowery Creek trailhead. USGS Bowery Peak
