Walkers Peak is a big peak located along Artillery Dome Road, which cuts a non-wilderness path into the heart of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. There is a communication installation just north of the cone-shaped summit. The views are splendid. USGS Chinook Mountain
Walkers Peak is a big mountain with several summits. Artillery Dome Road passes over its south ridge. The high point is just left of center when viewed from Peak 9211.
Access
Access this peak via 4WD Artillery Dome Road. Follow the road for 12.9 miles from its start. Park on the broad south ridge.
South Ridge, Class 2
If you manage to drive to the parking spot, you can walk up the peak’s south ridge in five minutes.
